That was one of my favorite things about sailor moon. It was girl power, but also GIRLY power. It was okay that it was covered and sparkles and pink and hearts and toddlers, because they grew up to be cosmic warriors and got swords and had attacks like "Dead Scream".
Same here--I loved that so many of the characters had super-girly traits (no one more than Sailor Moon) and these traits weren't a hindrance, they were their STRENGTH. Sailor Moon's girly hyper-friendliness and optimism? They're what empowered her to save the UNIVERSE.
